Current made the trip to Laurel Park a winning one, taking a Starter Optional Claiming race in his first start off the claim for Adelphi Racing Club and trainer Ray Handal. Under a confident ride by Jevian Toledo, Current settled in the back of the pack early and gradually closed a 10 length deficit along the backstretch. Toledo kept him in the clear throughout and swung him wide turning for home, where he came rolling down the center of the track and cruised by Order for Porky to prevail by a measured half length to take the $38,000 purse. He was not claimed out of the race and is already back home at Belmont, where we will look to find another race for him closer to home.
