Lookin At Lucky (Two Year Old Colt)

Adelphi Racing Club

This colt is out of an aptly named sire because to put it bluntly, we got very lucky to snag him at the Fasig Tipton Mid-Atlantic 2-year-old in training sale.  Adelphi has chosen to focus primarily on yearlings when it comes to buying younger horses but we always have a presence at the 2-year-old sales just in case one falls between the cracks and after striking out at the last four sales we finally caught the horse this go around!  This lovely looking and moving son of underrated sire Lookin At Lucky was originally identified by Christophe Clement (one of Adelphi’s primary trainers) when he visited the farm where this horse was preparing for the sale at earlier this year.  Christophe liked the horse so much that he told Bloodstock Agent Joe Migliore, to make sure he looked into him at this sale.  Joe watched the colt breeze and went to see him at his barn several times prior to the selling beginning and loved everything about him.  For Joe he was the best NYB colt at the sale in the affordable bracket.  The team thought this horse would surely bring six figures and we were prepared to go that high to secure him but when the bidding began it seemed as though some of our competition got caught sleeping (we assume they figured the horse would cost too much ) and we were able to get ”lucky” and steal him at bargain price.  Joe was immediately offered $10K above the purchase price by one of those competitors who didn’t follow the horse through the ring assuming he’d go for a lot more.  We’re obviously thrilled to have the horse and look forward to racing him after a quick three week break on a Saratoga farm (we always give our purchases time to decompress from the sale before training on with them).  Once he completes that quick break he’ll ship into the Clement barn in Saratoga to train for what we’d hope would be a Saratoga debut this summer.  This colt has all the ingredients to be a fun racehorse for the stable.  He’s well built, travels smoothly over the track, has speed, is a New York Bred (with all the benefits associated with that), has a proven (albeit underrated) sire and female family (all siblings to race are winners).  We hope you’ll join us on this exciting prospect!

NOTE: PRICING INCLUDES ESTIMATED TRAINING EXPENSES THROUGH THE END OF DECEMBER 2022
