Twirling Candy/Strategic Dreams KY Bred

Class…That’s the word I’d use to describe this elegant daughter of top sire – Twirling Candy.  She’s beautifully made with long legs and a long body (built for distance) and she tracks so well when she walks…It’s really a sight to behold!  When we got to the White Lilac consignment I was already paying extra attention as they prepare and sell very nice horses. We’ve had a lot of luck buying off them in the past (including Royal Poppy) so it was no surprise that my jaw hit the floor when this filly stepped out of her stall for us.

The Breeze:

She glided easily through a very fast 10.0 breeze without much urging from the rider and she galloped out effortlessly (2-furlongs in 21.2 and 3-furlongs in 34.2).   She really extends her stride well and moves on the track, and walks like, a major two-turn prospect…

The Pedigree:

Similar to the previous filly, she’s by a top class sire – Twirling Candy and is out of a multiple stakes winning dam (including the Ruthless Stakes) – Strategic Dreams (who was also graded stakes placed).  Strategic Dreams was precocious winning on debut and 4 of her first 5 races (including two stakes).  Her only off the board finish in those first five races was in the Grade 1 Frizette (in just her 2nd career start). Like the More Than Ready filly, this girl checks all the boxes in terms of broodmare value potential.  She’s by a top class sire and is out of a stakes winning dam so if she becomes a stakes performer herself her value as a breeding prospect is cemented at a significant level!

The Plan:

Given this filly looks the part of a classy two-turn horse we’ll give her the customary 45-60 day letdown period post sale and then bring her into trainer Ray Handal’s barn in mid May.  That should give us plenty of time to have her ready to debut in Saratoga this summer!
